Porsche Design: 50 Years

Many assume Porsche Design is simply an arm of the automaker. In fact, it's a separate — but closely related — firm founded by original 911 designer Ferdinand Alexander Porsche in 1972. Their first product was a watch, ordered by Porsche, to be given to long-standing employees of the automaker, and the lineup expanded from there to anything F.A. found interesting, including pipes, pens, and sunglasses. Over the years, the company's portfolio has expanded, but the firm has never lost sight of its award-winning style. Porsche Design: It's about time chronicles the company's development over the past five decades, illuminated by interviews, memories, and archival photographs that make it perfect for coffee table perusing.
